My second review of Lazy Dog and they didn’t disappoint!

The Wings at Lazy DogTrip Advisor

It took a few visits, but Lazy Dog came through twice in the past two weeks for our dining experience.

My last review wasn't that optimistic about the food, but I had high hopes for the staff after our son had some great dining experiences. Lazy Dog has our son Andrew to thank for getting us to go back and try one more time which ended up being two visits with excellent outcomes.

I'm mainly going to write about the last visit because it is fresh in my mind so please understand. I can't remember what we ordered the last time, but I know the perfect food and dining experience.

Food, service, and everything else was on point, and we were happy.

This Last Visit

I ordered chicken wings for an appetizer, and like last time the wings were crispy, as mentioned on the menu. If you remember the previous review, I complained about the wings being soggy, and I wasn't happy.

This time and last, the wings (picture at the top of this pot) were crispy, juicy, and the best wings we've had in a while dining out.

When the wings arrived, they came with three sauces on the side for dipping, including blue cheese, hot dip, and a BBQ dip. They were all excellent. Yes, I tried them all.

Patti dined on the wings with no sauce and was very happy with their flavor and crispiness. Things were looking good and only became even better when our main courses arrived.

The Main Course

Patti ordered the BBQ meatloaf meal, and I ordered the Black and Blue Burger, a burger with blue cheese added. I wanted to try the PBJ (that's correct, peanut butter and jelly burger, but I'm allergic to peanuts). I'll get Patti to try it sometime in the future or our son.

The Black and Bue burger was juicy, medium rare as ordered, and full of flavor.

It came with fries on the side, and I ordered a side of pickled cucumber which they make great.

Patti's meatloaf comprises bison meat with a great-tasting BBQ sauce piled atop red mashed potatoes over sautéed spinach and other veggies and onion ringlets. A meal fit for a king or, in this case, a queen!

As much as I enjoyed my Black and Blue burger, I will admit I drooled over her meatloaf dish. I may have to order that next time we go.

All in all, everything was perfect. The service was top-notch, the food was fantastic, and the wait on a busy night was about 5-10 minutes short. Not bad at all.

I recommend you try Lazy Dog the next time you're looking for a great place to eat and enjoy.

Buon Appetito!

Patti, my wife, and I write about life here in Fresno, California, and the Central Valley. We especially enjoy writing reviews about restaurants we've dined at, along with the food that is served. From time to time, we also write about and share recipes that we are fond of and hope you'll try them and let us know your thoughts. We are not traditional food critics. We don't have to worry about restaurants making unique dishes for us. We're just the average customer going in to dine, and then we write reviews.
