Amazonite is a Microcline variety of Potassium Feldspar.
Most often it is a greenish blue color, but it can be found in shades of purple, grey, green, and blue.
Amazonite was named after the Amazon where it was first found, but it can be found all over the world.
The Pikes Peak area of Colorado is well know for it's Amazonite.
Amazonite seems to becoming more and more of a desirable stone.
I think it's popularity is rising because of the metaphysical crowd.
Metaphysical people believe Amazonite soothes anxiety and brings clarity to ones life.
Amazonite is known as the healing stone as it is believed to treat fatigue, trauma, and helps to promote cellular regeneration.
Amazonite can be bought raw or cut. It can also be made into jewelry.
The show is sponsored by the Culver City Rock and Mineral Club.
