Art in the Age is putting the bar in barista! Philadelphia’s premier bar and tasting room, home bar supply, and bottle shop is thrilled to announce its formal expansion into coffee with an all-new café menu showcasing beans from Philly locals Bean2Bean Coffee Company. Alongside tried-and-true classic espresso, the shop will debut a line of craft cocktail-inspired coffee beverages, some with booze and some without, available to stay or to go, offered during standard store hours beginning at noon daily. The all-new experiential menu will launch Tuesday, February 28, marked by an exciting Jitters & Jiggers Coffee Cocktail Workshop at 7 pm, with guest barista takeovers coming soon.
The expansion comes on the heels of the recent addition of Art in the Age’s espresso machine. Now, coffee and cocktail experts at the Old City locale are diving headfirst into robust programming with a rotating seasonal menu of coffee and coffee-inspired cocktails. Daily staples available beginning at noon include espresso, Americanos, lattes, and cappuccinos, to which caffeine fanatics can add artisanal bitters or flavor syrups to imitate their favorite cocktail.
Art in the Age’s selection of specialty lattes also showcases the bevy of bitters, flavor syrups, and (Instagrammable) garnishes available at Art in the Age – think “try before you buy”! Plus, move over espresso martini – Rich coffee cocktails like the AITA Carajillo, made with Bean2Bean espresso, Art in the Age Chicory Root Vodka, and demerara sugar, served over ice with orange peel, showcase innovative riffs on coffee-forward classics, done the Art in the Age way.
“We’re known for being the cocktail experts, and we’ve taken that strategy and applied it to coffee,” said Art in the Age General Manager, Craig Richie. “With our cocktail-inspired lattes and customizable coffee, folks can enjoy a truly unique beverage, whether or not they choose to add booze. We stay open later than most coffee shops, so it’s perfect for that end-of-day pick-me-up.”
Inside Art in the Age, Café coffee lovers can start with coffee and end with a cocktail while taking a load off at one of the high-top tables for two (there is wi-fi!) or tote their freshly-brewed cup of joe (or joe-inspired cocktail) while browsing the shop’s extensive collection of spirits courtesy of Tamworth Distilling and other craft purveyors, non-alcoholics such as The Pathfinder Hemp and Root, as well as every piece of barware needed to whip up expert-level cocktails at home.
Bites on-site during the week will include pastries from authentic Jewish bakery Noshes by Sherri, with Okie Dokie Donuts providing gluten-free sweet treats on the weekends.
These beverages and the standard Art in the Age cocktail menu are available during shop hours of Tuesday through Thursday 12 pm – 7 pm, Fridays and Saturdays 12 pm – 8 pm, and Sundays from 12 pm – 6 pm.
