Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao, the Shanghainese open kitchen restaurant concept widely known for the best soup dumplings in New York City, has officially expanded to Cherry Hill, New Jersey, in Towne Place at Garden State Park. Guests can choose from a large selection of authentic and traditional soup dumplings and watch as dumplings are handmade from scratch in an open kitchen. State-of-the-art service robots assist servers.
Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao has been selected as Michelin-recommended Shanghainese food for nine consecutive years. Xiao Long Bao, also known as Soup Dumpling, originated in Nan Xiang County in Shanghai, China. Nan Xiang opened its door in the heart of Asian cuisine, Flushing, New York, in 2006 and gained popularity among food lovers in New York City over the past 14 years.
Nan Xiang provides the most original flavors from China. Since 1954, Nan Xiang has been the first choice for locals craving authentic Northern Chinese food, Jiangsu & Zhejiang cuisine. Nan Xiang’s new Cherry Hill location will serve its legendary crab and pork soup dumplings, crispy pan-fried pork buns, Shanghainese dim sum, fried noodles, fried rice cakes, scallion pancakes, and steamed chicken soup. Also highlighted on the menu are the “lucky-six” soup dumplings, which come in six different natural colors and flavors, truffle soup dumplings, crispy turnip puffs, Shanghai siu mai, and other seasonal specials.
“We chose to expand to Cherry Hill because it is such a vibrant community where food lovers congregate to enjoy great restaurants,” says Michael Ma, Co-Founder of Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao. “The Nan Xiang team wants to share the richness of Chinese food culture by bringing another unique Asian dining experience from New York to all foodies in South Jersey”.
The restaurant’s environment draws inspiration from traditional decoration elements associated with Shanghai’s thousand-year-old mountainside Nan Xiang Town while also integrating the block layout of the surrounding area into the interior design. Mountains are a primary leitmotif rendered in iron, lime soil, and paint to create theme textures and colors. Hidden ambient light sources create an immersive dining experience where light exists without visible lighting fixtures.
In 2023, Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao will open its fourth location in the American Dream shopping mall in New Jersey and its fifth in Westbury, Long Island, New York. The sub-brand "Nan Xiang Express'', the fast food version of Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao, will have a new location near the campus of the University of Pennsylvania and a second one near Princeton University.
Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao, located in Towne Place at Garden State Park, Haddonfield Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002, will be open seven days a week from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm.
