Top Tomato, the longtime Midtown Village takeout restaurant, successfully relaunched its new location with a grand opening event Friday, April 29th with over 700 people in attendance.

The event highlighted the new 2,800-square-foot Top Tomato upstairs in the building that was previously Smoking Betty’s. Hundreds of people waited outside for hours to get in as the line wrapped around the building from the 11th Street front entrance all the way down to the Target on Sansom Street.

Inside, multiple live bands played on stage throughout the night as well as multiple DJs spinning in the DJ booth overlooking the dance floor.

“We always knew that Top Tomato could be a nightlife hot spot,” said co-owner Ziggy Nozile. “Now with the hundreds of people that waited hours to get in, we have shown that Top Tomato is the new hot place to go on weekends.”

Top Tomato, which partnered with a local influencer marketing company, Happy Hour Philly, for the grand opening event will continue to collaborate with them to throw weekly Saturday night parties.

“We want to be known for nightlife,” said co-owner Chris Dickson. “We are looking forward to hosting these weekly parties for the summer to really show people that Top Tomato is the place to be.”

Top Tomato opens daily for lunch at 10 a.m. and their kitchen is open late at night until 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. The restaurant has 10 TVs, 16 beer taps, and happy hour Monday through Friday from 4-7 p.m.
