A world-famous boba tea — or bubble tea — drink chain will open its first location in Edison, NJ at the end of the month.
Tiger Sugar, a Taiwanese dessert chain known for its caramelized brown sugar syrup-striped drinks, will be located at 1913 Lincoln Hwy (Route 27).
The Central Jersey bubble tea shop will open to the public on May 28.
“Tiger Sugar is unlike any other bubble tea,” Eric Yeung, the Edison location owner, said. “It took over ten years of painstaking research and development to develop this unique drink made of black tea, brown sugar, milk, ice, and fresh cream mousse. Thanks to the unique ‘tiger stripes’ presentation, it has become an international sensation!” he added.
The chain uses a proprietary cooking method, taking up to 8 hours, to achieve its famous amber syrups and chewy boba with handmade tapioca pearls. The result is a bold and visually stunning drink.
The boba tea chain has rapidly expanded since it opened in Taichung, Taiwan, four years ago. It will be the third location in New Jersey, and there are several in the Mid-Atlantic region, including Philadelphia, Cherry Hill, and DC/MD area.
The Tiger Sugar in Edison will be open seven days per week.
Hours are Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM and Friday and Saturday from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
