Attention Fudgie the Whale fans! Carvel of Pennington, NJ, has unveiled a new look and will be hosting a Grand Reopening on Saturday, February 26th, and Sunday, February 27th.
Henry Wong and his family took over management as new franchisees of the Carvel located at 800 Denow Road in Pennington, NJ (Mercer County) in July of 2021. Now, with a refreshed look, they invite customers to check it out with a 2-day grand reopening event at the beloved ice cream shop in Mercer County.
"We are SO excited for customers old and new to take a look at the changes we have made to this Carvel location that has been here for 18 years," owner Henry Wong said. "We are ready to serve our customers for many more years to come with the best customer experience in our newly renovated store."
Carvel is legendary for its premium ice cream cakes with signature crunchies and is very popular for its ice cream, sundaes, dipped cones, shakes, Carvelanches®, novelties, and other frozen treats. The company has been around for over 90 years and was the first retail ice cream company. Most Carvel's are franchises owned by local operators.
The Pennington store underwent a new makeover, including a freshly painted interior, new antique wood porcelain tile floors, new artwork and signage, and updated seating and lighting, which added more space and brightness. It fits Carvel's new corporate branding rolled out to all stores.
"We make all of our cakes daily. We have the freshest ice cream cakes and custom-designed cakes for our customers in the Pennington area," Wong emphasized.
Head Cake Decorator Allison Munnelly has worked for this location for over ten years. She has received rave reviews for her custom cakes and creations, which keeps customers returning time and again.
The Wong family of Mercer County is thrilled to be the new owners of this Carvel location. They support the local community and often give back to various area charities.
During the two-day grand reopening event, the store will host a raffle drawing to giveaway a Fudgie the Whale cake. They will also offer special discounts on both days; 18% off all cakes on Saturday, Feb 26th, and 18% off all novelties on Sunday, Feb 27th.
"18 symbolizes 18 years in business since 2004 and now under new management," Wong explained.
