Tiger Sugar, a unique bubble tea concept, originated in Taiwan in 2017, has taken the United States by storm. With two franchised locations of the global chain already in Philadelphia, it is expanding further with a new store in Cherry Hill, NJ, opening on Saturday, January 8th at 11:30.

Located at 404 Marlton Pike East, next to Han Dynasty in Saw Mill Village, this will be the first Tiger Sugar in South Jersey and only the second in the state. The brown sugar dessert drink, a combination of tea, milk, boba (black sugar tapioca pearls), cream mousse, and amber-colored syrup, is known for its signature tiger stripes look. The syrups are all made in-house using a proprietary eight-hour cooking method to get it just right.

“Tiger Sugar is unlike any other bubble tea,” Eric Yeung, owner of the Cherry Hill location and several other Tiger Sugar stores, said. “It took over ten years of painstaking research and development to come up with this unique drink made of black tea, brown sugar, milk, ice, and fresh cream mousse. Thanks to the unique ‘tiger stripes’ presentation, it has become an international sensation, and I am very excited to bring it to South Jersey,” he added.

The menu features four versions of its signature boba tea drinks: regular Black Sugar Boba with Cream Mousse, one with coffee jelly (caffeinated coffee-infused boba), one with chocolate malt, and one with espresso.

The location will also feature a variety of other boba teas featuring taro pudding, mango, red bean, mochi, and more. Snacks such as bagged black sugar popcorn are also available, and they will add special waffles to the menu sometime after the grand opening.

Mr. Yeung, who previously owned tea Do bubble tea franchises, also owns Tiger Sugar stores in Little Ferry, NJ, with another opening in Edison, NJ, and several in the Washington DC, Maryland, and northern Virginia area.

The first 100 orders from the Cherry Hill grand opening will receive free Tiger Sugar merchandise.
