BLDG39 at the Arsenal is a new indoor/outdoor event venue located at 5401 Tacony Street in the heart of Northeast Philadelphia's Bridesburg neighborhood. After renovations to preserve this historic industrial building, it operates as an event space and a co-working commissary kitchen for local caterers and food trucks.
The property, which dates back to 1917, is situated inside the stone confines of Frankford Arsenal during the wartime era. Initially, the building, once used as a paint shop in a complex specializing in producing munitions, was reimagined to preserve the history within its walls while offering new life for private events and food entrepreneurs.
BLDG39's main indoor ground-level room offers an expansive 2600 sq foot open floor plan with a large built-in bar and an additional 1,000 sq foot of outdoor area. Its historical and industrial chic feel is the ideal backdrop for any function, from weddings to milestone celebrations and all types of corporate events. Depending on the style of the event and seating arrangements, the venue can accommodate up to 250-300 guests. It includes two large garage doors that create a hybrid of indoor & outdoor events, a coatroom, private suite, wifi, and ample private parking for guests.
Located right off I-95 just 15 minutes from Center City Philadelphia, BLDG29 features 30 foot high ceilings, seven fans, non-recycled air conditioning, and commercial garage doors, making it a highly ventilated space a prime example.
Since 2019, BLDG39 at the Arsenal has been family-owned and operated by three generations of the Weizer family from Northeast Philadelphia: Brandon (third generation), Fred (first generation), and Craig (second generation).
“We are excited to be bringing people together in this beautiful & historic building to celebrate their milestone occasions,” said Craig Weizer.
Rental ranges $2,000-$4,500 for a 5-hour rental depending on the day of the week.
The 2,800 sq ft. shared kitchen is available for lease to approved food businesses such as catering companies, mobile food operators, bakers, and more. The kitchen, built strategically to maximize efficiency, provides lockable dedicated space for gear and lockable cages in a walk-in cooler. Parking spaces with plugs are available out front for all types of mobile food units as well.
The standard equipment includes convection ovens, flat tops, grills, deep fryers, stock pot stoves, 20-quart mixers, ten burner stoves with bottom ovens, a commercial dishwasher, and an ice maker.
