“I’m extremely happy!”

On Monday, the former ‘Bachelor’, 30, announced his engagement to political strategist, Jordan C. Brown, 39.

“Life is going to be fun with you,” Underwood wrote in an Instagram caption.

Underwood and Brown have been dating for nearly a year, after the former ‘Bachelor’ came out publicly as gay in April of 2021, and later documented his coming out experience in the Netflix special, Coming Out Colton.

Underwood told People Magazine, “After my birthday, Jordan and I went to Big Sur for a weekend getaway to decompress and relax in nature,”

“I couldn’t have pictured a more beautiful place to celebrate an amazing milestone in my life and relationship,” he continued.

The couple became Instagram official in December of 2021, and have continued to share photos looking happy and in love since then.

Underwood has had a very public coming out journey, and has been open about struggling with his sexuality in the past. Underwood has shared that Brown has been a “great support” for him, in accepting himself and his sexuality.

“I was struggling with my sexuality but I had such a level of fear over being gay,” he said.

“Now that I’ve been out to myself for a year, it’s the healthiest and happiest I’ve ever felt. And there is nothing I would ever want to be but gay,” Underwood continued.

“I wasn’t really pursuing dating at first. But since then I found somebody and I am very much in love,” Underwood told PEOPLE in December.
