Dreams do come true. According to WTVR CBS 6, a woman from Ruther Glen, Virginia had dreamed for a long time of being a contestant on “The Price Is Right.” Rita Armstead's dream came true when she appeared this week as a contestant on an episode of the iconic television game show where contestants compete by guessing the prices of merchandise to win cash and prizes.
Rita responded quickly when she got the call "to come on down." She played a game and won a refrigerator by matching its correct price of $2,499. She also won a collection of designer handbags.
Armstead admitted that winning the refrigerator was perfect because she was getting ready to buy one before she went on the show.
Rita was excited about winning the refrigerator and designer handbags, but she said her reasons for playing “The Price Is Right” went well beyond the prizes.
"So I started researching tickets to get on ‘The Price Is Right,’ because that's always been my dream. And it was my grandmother's dream as well before she had passed. Every morning, even when I was a young baby, my grandmother was sitting in front of the TV watching ‘The Price Is Right’ with a cup of coffee.”
Rita said the family tradition continued because all her children and grandchildren also watch "The Price Is Right."
