Anchor Anthony Antoine is leaving NBC 12 after five years. His old position will be in good hands. As Richmonders said goodbye to Anthony, they also welcomed Ashley Hendricks to the 12 News Today team.
Anthony wrote on Twitter:
After five incredible years, my time at NBC 12 is coming to an end. I have accepted the evening anchor position at FOX 26 in Houston, Texas. Richmond, my heart is filled with immense gratitude. It's been my honor and privilege to be the voice you woke up to each morning, the one you trusted to deliver the news with accuracy and integrity, and the person you shared a laugh with while you enjoyed that first cup of coffee."
Anthony has brought positive and upbeat energy to NBC12 morning viewers since his very first day on the job. In addition to making an impact in the morning, he’s also delivered good news to members of the community each week through the Acts of Kindness segment.
Anthony said in a social media post when he announced he was leaving:
I am INCREDIBLY EXCITED to start a new chapter in Houston! This moment is a culmination of a lot of hard work and I'm prepared for what's ahead. I plan to share more about my move in the near future, but I have one month left in Richmond and I look forward to making more memories."

Anthony starts his new chapter with FOX 26 Houston as an evening anchor effective July 2023. He made comments to Houstonians:
"Since migrating to the United States from Trinidad and Tobago, I've always chased my vision of the American dream. Ascending to this position, in such an amazing and diverse city feels like a dream come true. For Houstonians, I hope to be a calming and reassuring voice during difficult times, and when appropriate I look forward to laughing and enjoying the positive stories in this great community."
