Americans eat more than 16 million jelly beans around the Easter holiday, and they are not all eaten by kids. Adults favor them just as much. That number does not include jelly beans eaten at other times during the year.

Sales from CandyStore.com over the last 15 years, data from SurveyMonkey, and Facebook polls of over 12,000 candy customers and followers ranked the most loved jelly bean flavors in all 50 states and the 32 most popular flavors nationwide.

Thirty of the top jelly bean flavors were ranked across the country. It was concluded that every state in America has at least three favorites.

This writer lives in Virginia where residents eat thousands of jelly beans every Easter. Favorite flavors of jelly beans are listed below along with their ranks and descriptions. Notice that all three of Virginia's favorites are also on the list of America's favorites.

Virginia's top flavors of jelly beans

1. Cinnamon

Cinnamon is Virginia's number 1 favorite jelly bean. That flavor is ranked number 3 nationwide. People love cinnamon jelly beans because of their spicy taste.

2. Watermelon

Watermelon is Virginia's second favorite flavor for jelly beans. They are refreshing and taste sweet just like a real watermelon. Watermelon jelly beans rank number 5 nationwide.

3. Buttered Popcorn

While buttered popcorn is number 3 for Virginians, it is number 1 nationwide. That flavor is salty and buttery that Americans love.

How to share jelly beans

You can keep all the different flavors separated and share only one kind at a time. The danger of mixing all three flavors in a bowl is that family members or friends might pick all their favorites from the bowl and eat them. You might be tempted to do it also.
