Seagars at the Hilton Sandestin
If you are celebrating a special evening, or just want to live it up, head to Seagars (prounounced see-gars). The restaurant gets is name because several of the private dining rooms were once cigar rooms and well, you are at the sea. But be prepared to spend some dough for your meal.
There's an extensive wine list. In fact, beer, cocktails and wine are so plentiful, they are on an iPad instead of the regular menu. Servers will make recommendations and know both drinks and the menus inside and out. A Sugar Plum Fairy cocktails with gin and ginger was the perfect balance of sweet, sour and tangy.
A crab cake is pure lump crab, no filler and is server on a light tomato bisque. Steaks like filets and prime rib and even lamb chops (USDA Prime) are available. But we got the surf and turf, a 10 oz filet served alongside a whole lobster. Don't worry, they slice it so the hardest thing you have to do is use your tiny fork to scoop out all the yummy goodness!
Slicklips Baytowne Wharf Sandestin
Who knew that just a short drive from the beachfront properties was the village of Baytowne Wharf? What's so neat is that is the a shuttle that runs about every 20 minutes taking guests from the hotels at the beach to this cool spot. The Wharf has lots of restaurants, shops and even a carousel and a dueling piano bar.
Slick Lips is a fabulous seafood restaurant that you definitely want to visit. Try to snag a table on the upstairs patio. It makes you feel like you are in New Orleans. However, the food is one hundred percent delicious seafood from the Gulf. Fresh oysters that you can get a myriad of ways like the raw of bbq and pepper jack.
They even have an award winning cocktail list. I recommend the My Paloma, a perfectly well-balanced drink with a secret spice you'll love! If you are still hungry for seafood, get the Key Lime Snapper or the Crab crusted Grouper. Oh La La, every bite is scrumptious.

Who would have guessed that this sports bar located in a strip mall would have such incredible food. If you are football fan, this is the place to catch your team on huge screens. And if you are a beer lover, even better! They have over 100 different beers on tap. My IPA was delicious.
One a weeknight in October they were packed, so expect a wait as this is a very popular spot with the locals and probably returning tourists as well.
Start your meal with the steamed crab claws, a delicacy in the panhandle and the mussels if they are a special are fabulous too. Lobster tacos are a must for any lobster lover.
