The Starling Hotel, located in Midtown is right next to Colony Square. There's a lot of action there to keep you busy and you won't even have to use your car with the many things within walking distance to the the hotel.
1. The Bird Cage Chair
Poised near the elevators, there are a couple of spots to site while you wait for the elevator, but we couldn't resist the bird cage chair, or at least that's what I'm calling it. If it is a busy weekend or they only have 2/4 elevators working like when I visited, you'll have plenty of time to take as many selfies as you need.
2. Reflection pose in Lantana
The gorgeous new restaurant inside The Starling is Lantana. Though we were dressed up for dinner, most diners were pretty casual, so don't feel like you have to. It just feels special to get dressed up once in a while right? The bright green couch with velvet pillows compliments the leather tufted ottomans scattered throughout the restaurant.
Though it has more a "loungy" setup than a fancy dinner spot, the food is spectacular. Tuna tacos and mussels were fresh and delicious. A Wagyu Steak was equally tasty.
3. Funky pool chair at The Starling
Sure, it may sound trite, but the pool at The Starling boasts some pretty cabanas and is the perfect way to spend a lazy afternoon. Note: these have to be reserved in advance, so make sure you do that if you want to try it out. Also, you can reserve these even if you aren't staying at the hotel. We saw one group celebrating a birthday that was there for the afternoon. You get. a food and beverage credit too!
4. Staircase in the Starling Lobby
While you are dolled up, either before or after your dinner at Lantana, make sure to post for a photo on the stairs. The beautiful lights and wide staircase make for a beautiful pic for Instagram.
5. Selfie Mirror
You could go your entire stay and not know this mirror wall is here. Why? Because it is located on the staircase that takes you to the basement. We only found this as we were walking downstairs to the Spa for our couples massage. Love the way the mirrors are different shapes and sizes for a fun, distorted look. Protip: if you hold your phone just right you can hide it in the image.
Bonus. The Starling Sign
Sure, it's an ad for the hotel, but it's also gorgeous. The plant wall is a cool memory for any digital scrapbooks you may be making for your travels.
Where will you post first for your Instagram pic at The Starling Hotel?
