Hotels in the Atlanta area have received 113 bed bug reviews in 2021 so far, an 18.9 percent increase from the 95 reviews posted in 2020. What is alarming about this is the sharp increase in bed bugs in the last ten years. The study was compiled by Pest Strategies after compiling reviews from the top hotel review sites.

Bed bugs typically hide in the crevices of mattresses, pillows, sheets, blankets, etc. and are commonly mistaken for fleas, ticks and even baby cockroaches. They can live 6 to 9 months without having feasting on blood. The worst part is that if you pick them up at a hotel they can easily cling to clothing or stow away in your luggage and you can bring the home.

If you are staying in a hotel and are concerned about bed bugs you can look for them before you settle in. Pull back the sheets and look closely at them. Do you see any small bugs like look like fleas or ticks? You might also see stains from where they have left shedding or even blood from a squashed bug. There may even be a buggy sort of odor.

The restaurant features a large inside dining area but it's better to sit outside on the patio, where you can listen to the water from the fountain nearby.
