Dave’s Hot Chicken, the Nashville-style California-based chain that serves fabulous fried chicken and other delicious food is set to open its fifth Michigan location in Southfield. The famous restaurant which counts celebrities like rapper Drake and actor Samuel L. Jackson, among its investors, will hold a grand opening on Friday.
The new Southfield restaurant will open at 28674 Telegraph Rd. The location will be serving its staple spicy chicken sandwiches and fries from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. seven days a week. The chain’s other locations in Michigan are at 22208 Michigan Ave., Dearborn; 624 W. Big Beaver Rd., Troy; 3667 E. Grand River Ave., Howell; and 31101 Mound Rd., Warren.
Dave’s Hot Chicken is known for having customers swarming to its new location for a taste of Dave’s sliders topped with sweet kale slaw, crisp pickle chips, and star chicken. The brand’s newest location is spacious with comfortable seating designed to give guests guaranteed comfort while enjoying their meal. Guests arriving at the location will see the message “Started in a lot with $900 and a fryer” painted to the right and bright graffiti-style pop art covering the walls.
Dave’s Hot Chicken was founded in 2017 by friends Dave Kopushyan — a chef who trained in the organization of Thomas Keller (French Laundry) — Arman Oganesyan and Tommy and Gary Rubenyan as a simple hot chicken cart in an East Hollywood parking lot. The popularity of the cart’s Nashville-style hot chicken tenders and seasoned curly fries grew rapidly as people lined up to grab the delicious crunchy foods.
The chain’s menu includes four combo meals that feature chicken tenders or chicken sandwiches with fries, pickles, and ‘Dave's Sauce.’ Spice options range from no spice to its hottest option, the "reaper." Other side offerings include Cheese Fries or Mac and Cheese, plus drinks including milkshakes.
All the tenders are served with sliced bread, pickles, and a side of Dave’s sauce. Sliders are served on a hamburger bun with kale slaw, pickles, and Dave’s sauce.
