Celebrity-backed Dave’s Hot Chicken announced that it has inked a deal with experienced restaurant industry entrepreneurs John and Jeff Froccaro to open new restaurants in New York over the next five years.
“John and Jeff bring incredible experience and industry expertise to the table, and we could not be more thrilled to work with them,” said Bill Phelps, CEO of Dave’s Hot Chicken. “Their ambition and knowledge, combined with the support and guidance from Dave’s Hot Chicken is the perfect recipe for success.”
The two brothers are second-generation restaurant owners. They have been in the business for over forty years with their longtime business partner Harry Braunstein. Their current organization includes Qdoba Mexican Eats and Burger King locations.
Additionally, over the past decade, a third generation of Froccaro family members have been involved in the operation and development of their restaurant portfolio. As established business owners in the area, the Froccaro family are the perfect leaders to bring Dave’s Hot Chicken to Queens and Long Island.
Commenting on the development, one of the franchisees, John Focaro said that Dave’s Chicken is the right brand to partner with. In his words:
“When we began our search for a brand to add to our portfolio, we knew that we wanted to be involved with a brand that offered the highest-end product, incredible corporate leadership, and unmatched consumer excitement,” said John Froccaro. “From the early stages of exploring the opportunity with Dave’s Hot Chicken, we knew it was exactly what we were looking for. Our team is thrilled to work with Dave’s Hot Chicken and deliver a restaurant option to our area.”
Dave’s Hot Chicken offers delicious quality foods that taste uniquely different. The chicken is the star of the brand. Expertly prepared to be the juiciest and most tender chicken imaginable, each piece is topped with Dave’s signature mix of spices ranging from No Spice to “The Reaper.”
Since its debut in 217 in L.A, customers have been swarming their different locations for a taste of Dave’s sliders topped with sweet kale slaw, crisp pickle chips, and star chicken.
The chain’s menu includes four combo meals that feature chicken tenders or chicken sandwiches with fries, pickles, and ‘Dave's Sauce.’ Spice options range from no spice to its hottest option, the "reaper." Other side offerings include Cheese Fries or Mac and Cheese, plus drinks including milkshakes.
Dave’s Hot Chicken was founded in 2017 by friends Dave Kopushyan — a chef who trained in the organization of Thomas Keller (French Laundry) — Arman Oganesyan and Tommy and Gary Rubenyan as a simple hot chicken cart in an East Hollywood parking lot. The popularity of the cart’s Nashville-style hot chicken tenders and seasoned curly fries grew rapidly as people lined up to grab the delicious crunchy foods.
