The wait and anticipation are over as Raising Cane’s finally opens its first Cedar Rapids location on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. The new restaurant is situated across from Lindale Mall at 230 Collins Rd. NE.
The Cedar Rapids location is Raising Cane’s second in the Corridor, after opening in Coralville last April. The opening is part of the chain’s strategic growth plan of opening 100 new restaurants in several markets this year which will bring a total that approaches 700 restaurants in more than 35 states and Guam.
The grand opening in Cedar Rapids includes a ribbon cutting, prize drawings, and giveaways scheduled to start at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
The first 100 customers to purchase a box combo will receive a limited edition Raising Cane’s T-shirt. DJ Riley Mulane will entertain those waiting in line as Coe College cheer and dance teams, as well as Cedar Rapids Rough Riders mascot Ricochet, make appearances throughout the day.

Also available is the three-tender sandwich served on a toasted sesame seed bun with lettuce and the restaurant’s signature Cane’s Sauce.
Raising Cane’s also offers ‘Tailgate’ trays of 25, 50, 75, or 100 fingers suitable for a family, office, or party. Available drinks include tall glasses of the southern classics, sweet or unsweetened tea, lemonade tea combo, or soda.
The interior of each Raising Cane’s restaurant is customized to represent its particular area. The chain prides itself on items that are made fresh, including Cane’s sauce, coleslaw, and lemonade. According to their website, the chicken is fresh and never frozen. They’re marinated for 24 hours and then hand-battered before it gets fried. A seemingly simple approach that has made the chain famous over the years.
Founded in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1996 by Louisiana state alumni Todd Graves and Craig Silvey. Todd and his crew have grown the brand to more than 600 locations in the U.S.
The new location will be open from 10 a.m. to midnight daily.
