Sage Hills Trail, beautify yellow flowers

The Sage Hills is home to great trails for hiking, running, or mountain biking. Springtime brings vibrant colour to the area with wild sage, yellow arrowleaf balsamroot, Indian paintbrush and purple lupine abound. My family went there last week, but most all the flowers were gone until we got up about 6 miles.

I recommend Horse Lake Trailhead which is a bit higher in altitude but still has plenty of flowers. We had to drive around 3 miles of unpaved roads to reach there. Try carefully if you go there. The parking lot is pretty spacious. You can have a great view of Wenatchee and see snow mountains.

The track is narrow, but you can see a lot of wildflowers. It is not shadowed, so it is dry and hot. Take more water. Worth the effort.
