Looks like the Kangaroo Center/Exhibit is OPEN...even in the winter.  Makes you wonder what these "Down-Under" Animals think of the Snow and Cold.  We couldn't tell if they were Bored, Tired or Cold?  You be the Judge.  At the Lucky Duckling we wish these animals could be more in their natural Habitat, which includes weather, but at least they have lots of space at the Detroit Zoo.  You can often witness them hopping around, crossing the Human Walkway Path...getting inches from these Crazy Creatures.  Can't wait until Spring!

Kangaroos!  Up Close & Personal at the Detroit Zoo

Penguins are VERY popular at the Detroit Zoo, especially since they have the LARGEST Penguin Center!  WATCH as these adorable Penguins attempt to climb stairs, hopping and hopping as they go UP and DOWN!  At some point, we thought they were going to slip and slide into the water, lol.  At the Lucky Duckling, we also love it when they HOP out of the water, so quick and effortless.

Here at the Lucky Duckling, we LOVE Peacock and the last few trips the Peacocks were NO where in sight.  So it was nice to see them up to their usual routines, being curious.  PLEASE remember these are WILD Animals, they are NOT pets - do NOT touch or feed them.  Parents - watch your kids, I'd hate for them to lose a finger if they got too close. The Peacocks are BACK!  Spring is almost here.  

Gotta love these ADORABLE North American River Otters! Like an "old" married couple, grooming each other, deciding what to do next?  Movies with Popcorn?  Dinner at Home?  Take-Out?  LOL.  The Lucky Duckling also LOVES that these are rescue Otters that found Sanctuary at the Zoo, assuming that they can't be rehomed to the Wild.  So glad they have a SAFE place to call home.

NOTE:  Hey kids, don't bang on the glass, the animals don't like it and it also makes the Lucky Duckling sad to see.  Enjoy with your Eyes, not your Hands :)

Who doesn't LOVE Penguins?  Meet Archie, the Youngest of the bunch at the Detroit Zoo, born in 2020!  Archie has his own little personality and BOY did it shine on Zoo Cam this week.  Crazy Little Penguin!  Seriously...what is he doing?  Fanning himself?  Enjoying the Falling Ice?  Trying to Puff Up and be the biggest? Silly Penguin.  More to come from the Detroit Zoo and other AMAZING Animal Centers.

Over at the Lucky Duckling we are HUGE Fans of BIRDS!  Love them!  And even though we think Birds deserve to be FREE and flying high in the sky or living in their natural habitat it is nice to see some "exotic" Birds not natural to the area since they can't be returned to the Wild.  The Detroit Zoo's Aviary isn't our fave but we've seen worse.  These Tropical Birds are often mistaken for Pink Flamingos...do you know their REAL Name?  WATCH and SEE.

Thank Goodness the Penguin Center finally REOPENED after 2 years at the Detroit Zoo!  It's a Popular place for both Humans and ADORABLE Penguins.  They look so happy just Swimming and Swimming and almost going around in circles.  Love seeing Happy Animals.  Lots MORE Penguin Clips to come, so Follow Along as the Lucky Duckling explores the Zoo and other Animal Sanctuaries.

When it Snows, the Polar Bears are in HEAVEN.  Just when you think they are NO where in sight, they pop up out of the Water and PLAY!  Sniffing the Wind, Playing with Toys, etc.  As much as I wish these AMAZING Animals could survive in the Wild, its nice to see them in their "Normal" Terrain.  Michigan winter weather can be perfect for these Bears, especially just after a HUGE Snow Storm.  More Animal Clips to COME, Follow Along!

The Lucky Duckling has made it BACK to the Detroit Zoo, just in time too as the SNOW on the ground is bringing out the romance in these Animals, lol.  Or at least that is what I am telling myself, Burrr.  Kissing Camels was FUN to see.  Question is, was it really a Kiss?  Or an odd chewing on the same stick? Either way, the Lucky Duckling enjoyed seeing it.  More to COME as the Lucky Duckling explores the Detroit Zoo and other Animal Sanctuaries in the Area.

The Lucky Duckling has finally made it back home, in time for the REOPENING of the Penguin Center at the Detroit Zoo.  Members do NOT need reservations but due to the popularity of the exhibit, guests might need to acquire a time to enter to see the Penguins.  Known as the LARGEST Penguin Center in the WORLD, its nice to finally see this reopened.  The Lucky Duckling was at the original reopening YEARS back, but sadly the building had water issues and needed to be fixed.  Reopened since 2019, WATCH these AMAZING Animals Jump, Swim, Sunbathe and just chill in their NEW home.

Still on Vacation at Disney World and the Safari over at Disney's Animal Kingdom is #amazing  The Animals have SO much Space, get Excellent Care and Attention AND you never know how CLOSE some Animals might get.  WATCH this!
