Creamy Clam Chowder recipe & ingredients

We make a delicious NE style clam chowder in the dutch oven, warm and hearty for those late fall and winter camping trips or make it at home. Recipe to follow below: New England Clam Chowder- 6- ounces bacon, 1 large onion diced, 4 stalks celery, 2 cloves garlic, 1/4 cup flour, 4 cups clam juice, 2 cups water ( can use chicken stock or seafood stock which is my favorite), pinch of dried thyme or one sprig of fresh, 1-2 bay leaves, 3 large potatoes diced, 2 cups heavy cream, 3-5 cans of clams, fresh chives, 1 seeded jalapeno, and salt/ pepper to taste. Cook bacon then remove bacon and cook onion/ celery 1-2 minutes. Add garlic don't burn. Next add clam juice, stock or water, thyme, bay leaf and potatoes. Bring this to a boil then turn down and simmer for 20 minutes. When potatoes tender add cream, clams, and chives. Cook for another 10 mins. #clamchowder #camping #campcooking #dutchoven #castiron
