Update on West St Paul Target theft, possibly part of a national crime spree

In a press release from the West St Paul Police Department, they confirm around 11:40 AM on Tuesday, March 7th several West St. Paul officers responded to a report of three people attempting to purchase items at the Target located at 1750 Robert St South in West St Paul, Minnesota through the use of a fraudulent/fake credit card.

They confirmed that according to Target security, the items the three individuals attempted to steal through fraudulent/fake credit cards were valued at around $1,000. According to Target security, these three individuals were responsible for over $30,000 in thefts last week while using the same process through fraudulent and fake credit cards at the same store.

When West St. Paul Police officers arrived at the Target, the individuals fled on foot in all different directions. According to the press release, all three individuals were apprehended quickly without force or injuries. According to the West St Paul Police, all three suspects were adult males from Flint, Michigan, and are possibly connected to a larger nationwide crime spree since one of the individuals has warrants for felony theft out of Florida and the State of Washington.

The West St Paul police department continues to investigate this case. They report that all three suspects are currently being held at the Dakota County Jail on probable cause Felony Theft and Fleeing Police by Means Other Than Motor Vehicle.
