EAGAN, MINNESOTA - The Eagan Police Department has confirmed in a press release that was released this morning that the body of a 51-year-old male was found in a pond Monday afternoon. According to the press release, around 1:21 AM, early in the morning on Monday, August 28, 2023, the Eagan Police Department received a report of a suspicious vehicle that was found in the 4400 block of Erin Drive in Eagan, Minnesota. The vehicle was found unoccupied with the door open.

Upon further investigation, Eagan Police learned the last known driver of the vehicle was a 51-year-old male who had not returned home. Once the Eagan Police were made aware of this information, the man was considered a missing person, and investigators and officers with the Eagan Police Department began to look for the man. The 51-year-old male was found later that afternoon deceased in the nearby pond to this location. According to the press release, he was found around 2:20 PM on Monday, August 28th.

Eagan Police Department says this continues to be an open and active death investigation, but the Eagan Police say there does not appear to be any risk to the community.

The scene resulted in the partial closing of Nicols Road for a period of time around Cliffhill Lane and Erin Drive in Eagan, Minnesota emergency personnel continued their investigation. The Eagan Fire Department was called to the scene along with Hennepin County Medical Examiners for the recovery of the deceased 51-year-old man.
