The modest 22-acre preserve hidden in the south Charlotte in a residential neighborhood, Big Rock Nature Preserve is a secret not many people know.
The Big Rock Nature Preserve is a geographically and historically interesting site having an exciting history with breathtaking views. The boulders at the site are by far the biggest in Mecklenburg County. But the thing that catches one’s attention is that it is pretty insane to have these large boulders present amidst these woods.
My best way to spend some time at Big Rock Nature Preserve is to hike while exploring this magnificent site and connect dots that I find in the area with the history I have learned. I reckon you do the same; it will make your visit significantly more enjoyable.
Apart from these enormous boulders, the place also has McAlpine Creek Tributary, thick woods, ancient naive American habitation, and wildlife to keep you entertained.
So if you are looking to visit a historically and geographically interesting site, then I suggest you visit this fantastic place in your neighborhood and witness something unusual and intigruing.
