NASHVILLE, TN – Exotic Avian Sanctuary of Tennessee is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to establish a space to ensure the safety, health, and life quality of captive parrots. The sanctuary covers five acres of picturesque fields with lush trees and mesmerizing nature in Nashville.
The organization puts a multitude of works with families and individuals to nurture the parrots and guardians. The organization is against the pet trade through captive breeding and promotes legitimate conservation efforts.
Exotic Avian Sanctuary of Tennessee encourages people who want to be a parrot companion to adopt instead of buying them. In addition, the organization supports owners in preparing the care plan for their parrots if their parrot lives longer than the owner.
EAST partners with Animal Services to provide experienced rescue, medical help, and a haven for parrots to help with parrot rescues. Some reasons for the parrot rescues are extreme neglect, abuse to birds and birds whose human companion has passed away and did not have any plan for the pet.
EAST helps as many parrots as possible, starting with a complete health exam by the organization’s avian veterinarian, Dr. Brandon Dixon. In tandem, they work to restore the parrot’s health and emotional issues.
The organization aims to find and match parrots with good homes and loving families through adoption. Thousands of parrots need committed and compassionate adoptive homes in rescue facilities nationally. EAST conducts a visit to the home of the adopter for reference checks.
In addition, there will be an interview and several visits with the adopter’s chosen friend. This process allows EAST to assess the prospective adoptive family’s ability to provide patience, quality care, stability, and love.
