NASHVILLE, TN — Nashville SC keep their winning streak and move to eight games without a defeat now, as they settled for a draw 1-1 with the Toronto FC on Sunday night. This is Nashville's first-ever visit to Canada in the Major League Soccer.

Nashville's only goal in the game came from Robert Castellanos. Castellanos made his first appearance, start, and score his first goal all on Sunday, an impressive debut for the defender. Castellaos becomes the fifth debutant in Nashville squad after Irakoze Donasiyano, Luke Haakenson, Aké Loba, and Rodrigo Piñero, and the fourth player to score their first MLS goal this season after Tah Brian Anunga, Robert Castellanos, Luke Haakenson, and Jack Maher. For his brilliant performance both on defense and offense, Castellanos earned his first-ever Man of the Match award.

Toronto FC opened the scoring first when Omar Gonzalez scored his first goal since 2019 in the 20th minute. Gonzalez finished Yeferson Soteldo's free-kick to find the back of the net. 21 minutes later, Dave Romney threw a perfect throw-in into Toronto's penalty box and found Castellanos. With a soft touch, the defender sent the ball to the goal.

Nashville SC now leads the MLS in combined wins and draws with 15, only suffered one loss, and furthermore extending their unbeaten streak to eight games. The team has scored a total of 25 goals and 26 assists, a productive result from the offense and a significant improvement from last season, where they achieved this in seven games more.

Nashville SC will continue their 2021 MLS season to the northeast when they visit the New England Revolution on August 4, with kickoff scheduled at 6 p.m. CT.
