NASHVILLE, TN - Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill might be the happiest person in Nashville right now, and the one with the most excitement in the team welcoming the 2021 NFL season. And he sure showed that in the team's first day of training camp.
Tannehill will have seven-time Pro Bowler wide receiver Julio Jones at one side, and another Pro Bowler wide receiver AJ Brown on the other. Behind Tannehill, stands the man who just rushed for 2,027 yards last season and completely dominating opposing defense, Derrick Henry. Josh Reynolds is a decent addition to the team as a solid WR3 option.
"To be able to play some real football again, 11-on-11, and compete, it feels good. It feels good to go out and play football. We have some familiar faces around here, and have added some new pieces, so I am excited about that. Tannehill said after the first practice.
Tannehill knows that the Titans now have a stacked wide receivers room. "It's going to be a big competition throughout this training camp, to see who comes out of there.". He also complimented the works of general manager Jon Robinson and head coach Mike Vrabel for being able to put so many talents into that position.
According to the quarterback, the team's focus for the training camp is to build the team. "We have a bunch of guys right now – it is not the same team as last year. It is a new team. So, we have to actually come together as a team and improve each and every day and compete."
Tannehill was clear about his goal for the new season. "I am going to go out and do the best I can each and every day to get better and lead this team to wins."
