Tennessee Department of Agriculture's Business Development Division won the 2021 Agricultural Marketing Excellence Award

NASHVILLE, TN – 2021 Agricultural Marketing Excellence Award has been awarded to The Tennessee Department of Agriculture’s Business Development Division this week during their annual meeting in Starkville, Miss.

The award is organized by North American Agricultural Marketing Officials (NAAMO). NAAMO is aiming to put multitudes of work to serve its member with a forum to build connections, partnership, and share insights, to improve the development of marketing, and promotion of North American food and agricultural products.

Kerry Wefald, NAAMO President state that The Marketing Excellence Award is the highest honor a member organization can receive.

“This award is voted on by provincial and state agricultural marketing peers, and we are so proud to recognize Will and the Tennessee team’s visionary strategy and impressive digital marketing efforts woven perfectly within a nicely packaged Pick Tennessee Products campaign,” she said.

Potential candidates of this award are agricultural marketing project that has successfully implemented their program and has proven an exceptional achievement in thriving the agricultural economy condition of a state or province.

Tennessee’s Business Development Division initiated the Do Your Part With Pick TN campaign. Will Freeman, TDA Business Consultant lead this project and is the one who presented the program in the NAAMO competition.

This social media strategy campaign’s purpose was to promote Tennessee products amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Surprisingly, the Pick Tennessee Product’s social media posts reached over two million people in 2020.
