NASHVILLE, TN — Are you looking for something new to sip? Downton Nashville is home to a vibrant community of craft beer producers.

All of the innovative beers are inspired by the sound and people of Music City and Tennessee. If beer isn’t your thing, you could check out other beverages like local whiskey, sake, vodka, and wine. Read along to learn about some of these producers.

  1. Proper Saké Co.
Located at 628 Ewing Ave. Artisan, unfiltered, and unpasteurized rice wine is the first thing in mind when visiting Proper Saké Co. in Nashville. They use recipes inspired by the 2,000-year-old Japanese art form of sake-brewing. Each batch of sake is handmade using sake grade rice, koji, mineral water and both traditional and modern types of yeast.
  2. Czann’s
Czann’s is located at 505 Lea Ave. If sake is not your thing, then head on to the Czann’s. They serve locally made beer with European sensibilities. They are known for the specialty malts from Franco-Belges, one of the largest malteries in the EU. You can enjoy its pilsener beer, with a slightly sweet flavor, or its dark dunkelweizen.
  3. City Winery
If you fancy a red, white, or bubbly experience you can’t find anywhere else, then this place is your best bet. City Winery is Tennessee’s first fully function urban producer with grapes from Napa, Oregon and Argentina, crushed them in-house, then fermented in French Oak barrels. They also offer guests a chance to taste their wine straight from the cellar, paired with local cuisine and, sometimes, music. You can find them at 609 Lafayette St.
