NASHVILLE, TN — To celebrate the Juneteenth holiday, Nashville Soccer Club announced on June 14, that they will be hosting a special Juneteenth Community Watch Party.
The Watch party will take place on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Elizabeth Park, North Nashville. The park has been chosen as the event venue, for it holds a special significance as the City’s most storied communities and is rich in African-American history.
The Juneteenth Community Watch Party is partnering with the Metro Government of Nashville, Davidson County Parks & Recreation and District 12 Councilman Brandon Taylor. This event will gather soccer fans and residents of North Nashville to celebrate the commemoration of Juneteenth and the history, contributions and resilience of the community.
The Watch party will start at 6:00 p.m. CT. It will feature a live broadcast of the Nashville SC match as the Boys in Gold take on the New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena at 7:00 p.m. CT.
There will also be the club’s IMPACT Soccer program, music, food, soccer games, giveaways and a host of vendors providing essential community resources. The Nashville SC’s IMPACT Soccer program is a pop-up event that will include family-friendly soccer activities featuring inflatable pitches, 3v3 tournaments and soccer skill drills. The watch party will end at 9.30 p.m. CT.
Come and join the Nashville FC fans cheering on the game against NY Red Bulls while gathering in the weekend before Juneteenth spend time with family and friends and enjoy small activities.
