Owned by Jeff and Carolyn Schrock, you’re sure to enjoy your visit. Jeff and Carolyn exude the epitome of grace and forgiveness in their testimony regarding a horrific traffic accident that killed all five of their children in 2006. Their daughter Carmen, who sadly passed away in the accident in 2006, survived a cougar attack in 1998 where her mother was able to scare the cougar away, but not before it caused her some severe injuries. Carolyn was pregnant with baby number six at the time of the accident. Jeff was seriously injured and, after a time in the hospital, survived. Out of the ashes came forgiveness and a newly forged friendship that has withstood the test of time.
Today, the bakery stands as a stark reminder to the local community that we can all rise above our tragedies and move forward with life, even in the face of tragedy. Jeff’s health issues again took a turn after his recovery from the car crash, and he had to have heart surgery. Jeff has recovered and is back to work now.
Stepping into the bakery, one is assailed with the aroma of freshly baked goodies, all resplendent of yesteryear. Shelves are neatly aligned with a wide array of fresh goodies, all ready to be consumed or baked into one’s own favorite baked items.
