“Happiness is like a butterfly; the more you chase it, the more it will elude you, but if you turn your attention to other things, it will come and sit softly on your shoulder...” H. D. Thoreau

Everyone has had that one friend that seems to be perpetually happy. Sometimes, just being around that friend can be annoying. How do they do it? How is it that they are always happy even on the roughest of days? Have you ever asked them what their secret is?

On March 3, it’s National I Want You To Be Happy Day. The goal of this day is to make someone happy. Have you ever stopped a moment and put yourself in someone else’s shoes? Have you ever wanted to find a way to just make someone smile, if only for a moment?

Today is the day to double your effort. Go out and make someone happy. It’s pretty easy to share a smile and it’s free.

Happiness is different for everyone. Stop and think about what makes you happy. How do you feel inside?

How can you make someone happy today?

First, set yourself aside.

Share a smile, it’s free!

Do something special for someone you love that will make them happy.

Clear the air with someone you’ve recently had a problem with.

Take an elderly friend a card and tell them that you love them.

Tell your loved ones what they mean to you.

Go the extra mile in all that you do today.

Give a genuine heartfelt compliment to someone today. The clerk at the grocery store or pharmacy, the receptionist at the Doctor or Dental office, or just someone who crosses your path.

Share on social media with #Iwantyoutobehappytoday!

Remember, we never know what tomorrow will hold. Life is precious and short and can be gone in the blink of an eye. Make every moment count. Cherish what you have and take the time to make someone smile today. How will you make someone happy today?
