Lessons from our youngest teachers: TEDxYouth@WHRHS - RebooTED
Five impassioned and eloquent local high school students and one teacher took to the stage of the Watchung Hills Regional High School’s performing arts center on the evening of March 31st, 2022, joining the global movement that seeks to bring “ideas worth spreading” (credit: ted.com) to the forefront for general consumption and lifelong learning. This year’s TEDxYOUTH@WHRHS event marks the 6th year in which the high school has hosted this premier, self-organized conference. 2017 WHRHS graduate Vineet Parikh first proposed the inclusion of this programming in the district’s “2015-2020 Strategic Plan” and the event and its preparatory needs were added to the offerings that round out the high school’s student-experience through extracurriculars.

Tired but triumphant, Team 41-RoboWarriors, representing Watchung Hills Regional High School in Warren, NJ, arrived home late Sunday afternoon, bringing home the title of FIRST Robotics World Championship Roebling Division Semi-Finalists, and a whole new appreciation for the sport.

It was an early but in no way restful weekend for the students and faculty advisors of WHRHS Team 41 as the RoboWarriors descended on the Stabler Arena of Lehigh University from April 7th - 9th for the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Rapid React MidAtlantic District Championships.

Watchung Hills Regional High School Team 41 RoboWarriors continued their upward trajectory last weekend as they battled it out against 38 other teams at the FMA District Montgomery Event held from April 1 to April 3, 2022, at Montgomery High School in Skillman. Following on the heels of the FMA District Bridgewater event in which they brought home the silver and an Excellence in Engineering award, the team had some 3 weeks in which to complete any repairs and make programming upgrades.

Watchung Hills Regional High School Team 41 RoboWarriors added a 2nd place ranking victory and an award for Excellence in Engineering to their long list of achievements, during the weekend of March 5th-6th. At the FMA District Bridgewater-Raritan Event, part of the international FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) competition, held at Bridgewater-Raritan Regional High School, the team competed against 35 other teams from within the First Mid-Atlantic District in a series of qualifying matches. The team earned Rank 2 with a record of 13-4-1 and won the following awards:
