The Easiest Mac and Cheese Recipe You Will Ever Make

Lauren Wax

Mac Mac baby!! You cannot go wrong with Mac and Cheese. It's the perfect side that complements any dish or if you're looking to carb-o-load, eat it as a meal. There are so many recipes out there, but here is an easy one I've recently made and loved. This recipe feeds about 8-10 people, and I ended up freezing some of it for future leftovers!

No joke, my friends and family are still talking about how good this recipe was! I hope you enjoy, and if you're a more visual learner, watch this video on my Instagram Reels.

3 tablespoons butter
12 ounces extra-sharp cheddar cheese, coarsely grated
12 ounces American cheese or cheddar cheese, coarsely grated
1 pound elbow pasta, boiled in salted water until just tender, drained, and rinsed under cold water
ā…” cup whole milk.

Heat the oven to 375 degrees. Use one tablespoon of butter to thickly grease a 9-by-13-inch baking dish.

Next, combine grated cheeses and set aside two heaping cups for topping.

In a large bowl, toss together the pasta, cheeses (if using) and salt to taste. Place in prepared pan and evenly pour milk over surface.

Sprinkle reserved cheese on top, dot with remaining butter and bake, uncovered, 45 minutes. Raise heat to 400 degrees and bake 15 to 20 minutes more, until crusty on top and bottom.

Let the dish cool for about 15 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
