The Chicago Police department is investigating the deaths of a family in the Morgan Park neighborhood.

On Tuesday, ABC 7 reported that the family was found dead inside their home near West 113th Street and South Green Street during a well-being check. CPD revealed that a woman in her eighties was found dead on the residence's first floor with a gunshot wound to her head. Another victim, a 64-year-old woman, was found on the home's first floor with a gunshot wound to her right torso. The third victim was found in the second-floor bedroom with a gunshot wound in the right torso.

According to CPD, all of the victims, consisting of a mother and her two adult children, were identified by the cook county medical examiner as Arteria Riley, 81, Thomas Ann Riley, 64, and Ruben Riley, 61.

Arteria Riley worked for the post office until she became blind. According to NBC Chicago, Andrew Holmes, a community activist, spoke with family members who are still unaware of when the shooting occurred.

"What the family is trying to determine now is how long ago and what time this happened because it's a close-knit family, and they're very close," the activist said.

Chicago police are investigating.

The shooting added to a tally of nine people shot on Tuesday in the city. Four people, including the family, were murdered, and five others were wounded. According to the Chicago Suntimes, the victims ranged from 37 to 81 years old. So far, no arrests have been made.
