The Restaurant

SGC Japanese Restaurant is a hidden gem in the city of Corona, California. SGC is a family-owned business that originally opened in 2006. The restaurant is located in the Corona mall at 113 E 6th St Corona, CA 92879.

The Japanese eatery has all-you-can-eat sushi and features Teppanyaki grills. The teppanyaki chefs cook your food tableside, so you can watch as they prepare your meal. The teppanyaki dishes are flavorful and cooked to perfection.

The Food

SGC Japanese Restaurant is a popular spot for both locals and tourists in Corona, California. The restaurant offers a wide variety of Japanese dishes including sushi, sashimi, and tempura.

One of the most popular dishes at SGC is the all-you-can-eat sushi. For just $24.99 (prices may change), you can enjoy as much sushi as you can eat. The sushi is fresh and delicious, and the rolls are creative and flavorful.

The Experience

A friend and I dined during lunch hours on a Thursday afternoon. We were greeted and seated quickly at one of the tableside grills. We ordered two lunch specials, Sesame Chicken and Hibachi New York steak/chicken combo. Both were excellent.

Impression and EATER score

EATER scale -

  • EATABLE- How does it taste?
  • APPEARANCE- Does it look appetizing?
  • TEXTURE- Is it cooked how requested or as expected?
  • EXECUTION-Did the dish (meal) come together? Does the dish showcase creative development? Degree of difficulty etc.?
  • RECOMMEND

The overall Eater score is 9/10 -the only complaint was the Miso soup was very watered down/tasteless.

SGC Japanese Restaurant is a great place to enjoy a delicious Japanese meal. The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes. The service is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is casual and relaxed.

If you are looking for a great place to take the family for a Japanese meal, SGC Japanese Restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
