The Gluten Free Life with Lashaun Turner introduces and reviews ready-to-go meal and snack products that are certified gluten free, as well as discussion & tips on gluten-free living.
In today’s post I will be sharing my impressions of VANS waffles, used in sandwiches, and more!
Gluten Free Life
A gluten-free diet excludes any foods that contain gluten, which is a protein found in wheat and several other grains.
One of the food items you will most likely miss a great deal when going gluten-free is bread. Most breads, crackers, and wraps contain gluten.
There are many choices of gluten-free bread products on the market. None of which so far, in my experience, gives the satisfaction & taste comparable to the real thing.
So, for a new twist, I’ve tried using waffles for various sandwiches and it works.
VANS gluten-free waffles
These waffles are readily available in stores and come in different flavors. I prefer the “original” line for breakfast waffles and more.
My favorite use so far has been for various “sandwiches”. For breakfast 2 eggs and 2 strips of bacon drizzled with a touch of honey.
Other sandwiches like bacon lettuce tomato and avocado, ham and eggs, chicken and waffles and just about anything you can imagine on a sandwich can fit between two or three waffles including peanut butter and jelly.
Tip: It’s important to toast the waffle very well after taking them out of the freezer so that they are stiff enough to hold its contents.
Impression
VANS waffles are delicious and have multiple uses making them an excellent addition to your gluten-free life.
