Deputies attempted to arrest Mark Anthony McKay, a 34-year-old male, 6’ 3’’ tall and weighing 200 pounds based on several warrants for his arrest, including outstanding warrants from Arkansas and Texas.
According to the official release of information of the incident, deputies initially saw McKay driving a white 2012 Ford Fusion sedan with Arkansas tags and stopped him.
During the search, McKay got away. Deputies saw him again later near the area of 7th Street and Santa Fe Avenue.
Deputies attempted to stop McKay in the white Ford Fusion, but he drove into the neighborhood in the 480 Block of Jonnie Way where he abandoned his car in the driveway of a vacant house.
Additional law enforcement support including were requested and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) were called to the scene. McKay somehow managed to evade the situation.
Deputies subsequently conducted a traffic enforcement stop of a vehicle in the area of Lake Park Drive and Ramona Expressway. Mark Anthony McKay was located inside the vehicle and immediately identified himself as a wanted felon.
Mark Anthony McKay was arrested for his felony warrants and booked into a Riverside County Jail on a host of charges.
According to the JIMS inmate information system, McKay is currently booked into Robert Presley Detention Center under a fugitive warrant and is being held without bail.
He is scheduled to appear in court 11/08/2021 at 08:00 in the morning.
