Dallas backup quarterback Cooper Rush has brought Dallas another win since filling in for Dak Prescott, after throwing a touchdown pass to Michael Gallup. The Cowboys beat the Washington Commanders 25-10 on Sunday. Fox 4 reports that Rush also had one touchdown pass to CeeDee Lamb, while moving to 4-0 in his career as a starter.
Rush's three victories have come since Prescott fractured the thumb on his throwing hand when they lost their opener to Tampa Bay. This the Commanders third consecutive loss. Washington had several promising drives but were killed by penalties, and flags that wiped out interceptions. The Commanders were hurt by 11 penalties which cost 136 yards.
Prescott was on the sideline wearing a headset. Fox 4 reports that this is the first time Dallas has held the first four opponents to 19 or fewer points since 1973. Gallup finally returned after spending nine months on the sideline after tearing a ligament in his knee on a Jan. 2 touchdown catch in a loss to Arizona in Week 17. Gallup helped lead Lamb in his role as leader of the receiver group after the Cowboys traded away Amari Cooper. Fox 4 reports that Lamb recorded six catches for 97 years. Washington's Carson Wentz was flagged twice for intentional grounding and threw two interceptions.
According to Fox 4, Washington Dan Snyder who is under investigation by the NFL for alleged workplace misconduct was seen speaking with Jerry Jones. He his suspended from day-to-day operations and has not been seen in public at Commanders home games.
