Goldee's has been known in Texas as the best barbecue joint in Texas. I have been witness to the place being packed every day they serve, Friday through Sunday. However, they are doing something special on Tuesday.

For just this one Tuesday, Goldee's is teaming up with Sandoitchi, a Dallas-based traveling Japanese kitchen that is known for their sandwiches. They even have a celebrity following that includes John Legend and his wife, Chrissy Tiegen. Sandoitchi operations manager Keith Tran told me that they are taking the menu and adding a Texas flair to it.

Goldee's is putting aside its famous barbecue for one day and using their skills to smoke wagyu ribeye and trout roe. They will then put that into sandwiches. These two places have cult followings, meaning that they are bound to draw a crowd on Tuesday. Tran joked with me about fans of the two companies are bound to jam up traffic.

Jalen Heard is a Goldee pitmaster and said he was excited to try some new stuff on this special day. The menu includes multiple types of egg salad sandwiches and the anticipated Smoke Wagyu Tartare sandwich. Along with sandwiches, they have multiple sides to choose from. Heard said that having the best barbecue in town, means they will have plenty of people show up. This special food will be made available starting at 11 a.m. and will continue until they are sold out. I'll definitely be trying out the food. Tran told me he hopes to do this again next year.
