What is Essendant Co.?: According to the company's website, Essendant Co. are "distribution experts" that allow resellers and manufacturers to scale their growth. The website says the company is a "forerunner in next-day delivery."
The Closure And Layoffs: According to Warn Letter dated November 29, 2023, the company will be closing its Medley, Florida facility in January of 2024. At that time, all 47 employees will be permanently terminated. The letter indicates that "the entire facility is expected to close."
Feedback From Employees and Truck Drivers Who Had Experience With The Facility: There are some Google reviews for the Medley location from employees and truck drivers who picked up from the facility.
Users gave it 4.2 out of 5 stars. No reviewers seemed to be aware of the upcoming facility closure, but many of the truck drivers who reviewed the facility said that they were able to load their trucks quickly and employees were efficient and friendly.
Previous Closures: The Medley facility is not the only closure in 2023. According to The Memphis Business Journal, the company shuttered its Memphis location and laid off 70 employees in the summer of 2023.
