I write quite often about grocers, warehouse clubs, and supercenters in Florida where one can shop for food items. It is not unusual for these articles to get multiple comments from people who used to live up north and who say that they miss shopping at Kroger.
However, some readers have responded to those wistful comments telling the poster who wants to shop at Kroger that this isn't a reality in Florida.
Actually, shopping through Kroger can be a reality in Florida. Floridians in some locations can shop with Kroger, so long as they're comfortable with shopping online and with home delivery or a designated pickup. Here is how:
Kroger Home Delivery In Florida: Kroger can deliver all over the state of Florida because it has a series of distribution centers in Groveland, Tampa, and Jacksonville.
Through the Kroger website, you can order most of what you'd need including groceries, health and beauty, pets, pharmacy, household, and alcohol.
The Kroger website offers a weekly ad as well as coupons, so it is arguably quite easy to craft a weekly shopping list, place your order, and arrange for either delivery or pickup.
Delivery fees range from $6.95 - $9.95 and trucks are refrigerated. The company also has a program called Boost where deliveries are free once you pay a yearly membership fee of $59.
Delivery Tipping Policy: According to the website "no tipping is necessary for our drivers since we’ve already taken care of it."
Pick Up Through Kroger: If you order $35 or more, pick up is free at participating stores. As with delivery, tipping is appreciated but not necessary.
Admittedly, this may not won't work for shoppers who like to see and examine their items - especially fruits and vegetables. But for shoppers already using Instacart or DoorDash, this may be an additional option - especially for those who have shopped at Kroger up north and enjoyed it.
How Do Floridians Feel About Shopping At Kroger?: Kroger gets 4 out of 5 stars on Google reviews, but employee reviews are mixed with shopper reviews.
Those reviewing the store seemed to have good experiences, with reviewers noting that the food was fresh and still cold. Here is an example of a good review:
"...Kroger Delivery customer service is absolutely phenomenal. Not to sound dramatic but, as a busy professional, this service has truly revolutionized my life. The prices are excellent, the selection is great, the delivery is prompt, (and) the drivers are wonderful. Where has this service been all my life? Thanks, Kroger!!"
Perhaps readers who have shopped with Kroger in Florida can comment and share their experiences.
