This Affluent City was Named One of the Best Places to Live in Florida. It Offers Famous Beaches, Attractions, and Parks

Floridians have varying opinions about which city offers the best living conditions in the sunshine state. Some feel that their own hometown is the best, while others long to live somewhere else.

A national website recently named the best city in each state using several metrics that consider a city's quality of life. Perhaps not surprisingly, the pick for Florida is an affluent town that offers many amenities and comforts. But it's not a major metropolitan city like some many assume.

What were the Criteria?: The website Wall Street 24/7 examined cities with more than 8,000 residents using metrics such as quality of life, affordability, economy, and a sense of community.

The site admits that it is a not coincidence that most of the included cities are close to major metros, giving them job opportunities and an economic boost.

What's So Special About Pinecrest, Florida?: The site chose Pinecrest, Florida as the best place to live in Florida in 2023. Pinecrest is an affluent community in south Florida with a population of a little under 20,000. As you might guess, Pinecrest is within proximity to the Miami metropolitan area.

Wall Street 24/7 pointed out that Pinecrest was one of the wealthiest cities in Florida, if not in the entire country. The median household income is over $100,000, which is around double Florida's average. According to Zillow, the average home in Pinecrest is worth around $1.7 million.

With Pinecrest being so affluent, it's likely not a surprise that it offers its residents natural attributes to enjoy and fun things to do, as follows:

Access to a World-Famous Beach: Any high-ranking city in Florida is likely going to have beach access and Pinecrest is no exception. You can get to Miami's South Beach within minutes if you're coming from Pinecrest. Not only do you have outstanding South Beach in this area, but there are world-class restaurants, shops, art, and nightlife.

A Lesser-Known Beach: As great as South Beach is, it is not everyone's cup of tea. Due to its popularity, it can be crowded. If you are seeking relaxation and beauty in Pinecrest, try Matheson Hammock Park. There's a quieter beach here, as well as 600 acres of beautiful protected property that includes nature trails, a boat ramp, a marina, the beach, and lovely places to picnic.

Fantastic Parks and Gardens: Those who want to embrace the outdoors have access to the famous Everglades National Park, a natural wonder that is one of the most popular attractions in Florida. Take an airboat or wildlife tour from one of the park's rangers.

For a lesser-known option, try Pinecrest Gardens. Not only does it have many beautiful walking paths, but it offers a petting zoo for kids and art exhibits for adults.

Compelling Attractions and Places to Visit: Those who live in or visit Pinecrest have their choice of entertaining attractions. Check out nearby Zoo Miami which allows visitors to see over 2,500 different types of animals.

Another great place to visit is Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, a beautiful collection of cultivated gardens that is the perfect contrast to a busy city.

Finally, Little Havana is nearby, and a visit here feels like visiting another country without needing a passport. This is a vibrant area that offers fantastic food, shops, cigars, and art.

A Fantastic Seafood Option: Pinecrest is close to a restaurant and market that is said to have some of the best seafood in south Florida - Captain's Tavern Restaurant and Seafood Market. Admittedly, this joint can get crowded because it is very popular, but if you want fantastic crabs and fresh seafood, it may be worth a visit and a bit of a wait. Tuesdays are a popular night as it is lobster night, where 2 for 1 lobster is offered.
