Which Florida Counties Have the Most People Born and Raised in Florida Living There?

It's no secret that many families choose to move during the pandemic and that this gave way to a movement called the Great Pandemic Migration. An IBD/TIPP Poll during the pandemic found that 29% of Americans surveyed either moved during the coronavirus outbreak or planned to move.

Even before the pandemic, Florida had been a popular destination. It's often on lists of top retirement destinations and often leads Census lists for inbound migration.

In fact, according to an article by the Miami New Times, Florida has a relatively low amount of native-born residents when compared to other states. Sachs media statistics indicate that only 36% of people living in Florida were born in the sunshine state.

Determining Where in Florida Has the Highest Percentage of Floridians Born in the State: Despite the information above, many of Floridians decided to stay put during the pandemic. And many Floridians never left the state in which they were born.

Which counties in Florida have the highest rates of loyal Floridians who stay where they were born and raised in Florida? The website Stacker wanted to find out, so it used data from the U.S. Census Bureau's 2020 5-year estimates to determine which Florida counties had the highest amount of residents that were born Floridians - and were raised in that county. There was quite a difference between number 50, which only had 33% of the population being born in Florida, and number 1, which had almost 73%. Note that in many cases, the counties which ranked highly were somewhat small in population.

The counties are ranked from the lowest percentage of Floridians to the highest.
