The weather is getting warmer and the cold weather is finally going away. It's time to go outside with the family! Here's a list, in no particular order, of the best outdoor family-friendly places to visit in St.Louis. Did I mentioned that you can enjoy each of these without breaking your piggy bank? You'll be surprised how much fun you can have on the cheap in the Gateway to the West, St. Louis.
Missouri Botanical Garden
The Missouri Botanical Garden offers 79 acres of splendid horticultural displays, including indoor conservatories and demonstration, formal and international gardens. St.Louis Zoo
The St. Louis Zoo is a wonderful place to linger with the family and the best news is: it's free! Indeed, it's one of the few free zoos in the nation. You can't beat that, right? The Gateway Arch
Located in downtown St.Louis, the Gateway Arch is one of the main historical attractions in St.Louis. The town symbol is an incredible 630 feet tall, and is something you must experience in person. It was an amazing experience to be on top and take a birds eye view of the area. The staff are friendly specially the lady at the information booth “Ms. Sweet Sue” - she was very helpful providing info about places to go and where to dine. You might think it’s pricey, but hey the fee that we pay goes to the maintenance and salary of this people who works at the Arch. It was worth spending for. I highly recommend to try it.
Grant's Farm
Grant's Farm is a refuge for more than 900 animals, featuring more than 100 species. There's even a tramway that goes around the field of the 281-acre ancestral property of the Busch family. You can book your Private Guided Deer Parc Adventure Tour, at a limited capacity due to the Covid-19 reality, among many other things. Masks are required unless you are consuming food or drink.
What a pleasant discovery of an overlooked treasure. This destination blends historical facts about our 18th president with a free shuttle ride through a farm full of animals, a petting zoo, free beer, and viewing the Clydesdale horses made famous by the Busch family. Parking for a car is $15. Everything else is free.
