The fair is coming to Antrim County’s Craven Park, in Bellaire, MI, starting August 11-13th. “The Antrim County Fair invites you to come and experience our “Homemade or Homegrown” family style fair. There is always lots of livestock, from rabbits and chicken, to goats, pigs and cattle. But don’t forget the horse show, dog show, and all the other still exhibits.” According to Antrim County Fair President Carol Land.

Starting on Thursday, August 11th, it is Senior Citizen Appreciation Day. There will be a horse show at 9am that is open to the public and free of charge. Adults and children can compete to win the High Point Trophy in multiple age classes and divisions. Poultry judging will take place in the evening at 5pm. This includes waterfowl, turkey, chickens, and game birds.

On Friday, August 12th, it is Veteren’s Appreciation Day. Livestock judging will take place starting at 9am. Some of the different divisions include beef, llama, goat, lamb, and swine. A 4-H dinner and auction will take place later on in the day, with dinner starting at 5:30pm, and the livestock auction beginning at 7pm.

Saturday, August 13th, is the fair’s Family Heritage Day. The 8th annual 5k run/walk through the Cedar River Natural Area will begin at 8:30am, and a pancake breakfast will follow from 10am-12pm. There will be a bounce house, along with an activity tent full of games for the whole family to enjoy. A dog show will start at 12pm, with registration starting at 11am. Pre-registration is recommended.

A silent auction will take place Thursday, Friday, and Saturday until 6pm. You will get the chance to bid on many local items donated from the community. There is also a new event taking place this year. It is the Tractor Display Contest. For a chance to win $100, bring your tractor to the fair and see if it is chosen as this year's favorite.

“The Antrim County Fair provides an important annual outlet for education, exhibition, and demonstration of agriculture, home economics, science, and art. It is a recreational based outlet for county residents and visitors to share and display their hobbies and interests with special emphasis on youth. Its goal is to provide a fun and educational experience for all.” According to the Antrim County Fair Mission Statement. For more information, go to
