One of the major business trends to emerge from the pandemic has been female entrepreneurs launching companies of their own from home. From beauty items to decor, women are leaning into their artistic talents and matching them with their business savvy. Since 2015, Seattle-based Amazon Handmade has provided a destination for business owners to sell their handcrafted products to a wider, and of course, global audience.

In honor of Women's History Month, Amazon Handmade partnered with Camila Alves McConaughey to celebrate the artists and their incredible small and medium-sized businesses on the site. As a lifestyle expert, entrepreneur and founder of Women of Today McConaughey knows the sweat and tears it takes to launch a business. Together, they celebrated International Women's Day to honor some of the Makers — the official name for Amazon Handmade's artisans — featured on the creative site.

“Celebrating International Women’s Day means supporting and shining a much-needed light on the deserving women in each of our lives," she said in a statement. "One of my favorite ways to do this is shop from women Makers and small businesses. I am excited to share with you a curated selection of buy favorite handcrafted items — from jewelry to home goods and more! All created by women Makers and exclusive to Amazon Handmade.”

One of McConaughey's selections is a Handmade Baking or Art Apron from SaraSewsInc, which creates lightweight aprons for tweens in colorful patterns and styles, and they can also be personalized with inspirational messages. Every item is designed and sewn by Team Sara — a fellow tween! — at their sewing studios in Bremen, Georgia. It's a great way to support a budding entrepreneur as she grows her business.

For those looking to make a statement with their fashion, especially post-pandemic, McConaughey also curated a piece from MIREILLE. The chic Hollywood Printed Crop Denim Jacket is a standout because the art goes well beyond the back — it features a palm tree and a sunset-printed design on the sleeves to complement the Hollywood sign that is the highlight of the piece. The 100% cotton, blue denim item is made in the U.S.A. and will easily become that go-to staple in your wardrobe.

If you are looking for a work of art for your plant, then look no further than McConaughey's Art of Plants pick. A swirling series of loops made out of 100-percent solid softwood and paper snakeskin, handcrafted in their Oakland, California, or Brooklyn, New York studios, is a stunning piece for any kitchen or living room. Papier #1 will honestly be the most elegant planter you've ever owned and it takes home decor to the next level.

There is an extensive list that is a part of the entrepreneur's curated collection, but McConaughey understands that people are looking for more than just a gift for someone — she knows many want something special that also supports rising female business owners. "These unique gift ideas are perfect no matter how you plan to celebrate the women in your life while also supporting female entrepreneurs and small businesses,” she explained. “It is up to us to create a supportive and uplifting community who advocate for each other in all of our endeavors and this is just one small and easy step we can take to do so.”

You can discover more talented Makers on Amazon Handmade's site, and don't miss Camila Alves McConaughey's curated picks on her personalize Amazon Handmade site here. It's easily going to become your favorite go-to shopping page for Mother's Day and the busy spring bridal and wedding season ahead.
