Things to do in and near Menomonee Falls, Thursday, April 22

Despite the weird (or normal really for Wisconsin spring) weather yesterday in Menomonee Falls, there are still some fun events on Thursday. These events include both online as well as in-person. Check out these events for something to do!

  • Ladies Night

Head over to Milwaukee and Vibez Creative Arts Space for Ladies NIght from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Come and paint! Every Thursday is Ladies Night. This week features acrylic pouring. Grab your best friends and make a night of it!

  • Virtual Deep Dish Pizza with Staci Joers

This event is being run by Milwaukee PUblic Market and Staci’s Cooking with Class. It is completely online and takes place from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event costs $15 per device and you need to register ahead of time. This event can be whatever you make it. It could be fun for the whole family or a romantic date night. You will be making your very own deep dish pizza! You can enjoy them right out of the oven or freeze them for later! Best of all, you can learn the whole thing online.

  • Virtual Free Live Step by Step - Wisconsin Mix Media

This event is completely free and online. It is put on by The Farmhouse Paint Bar and Banquet Hall. If you get all your own materials, you can enjoy this free live beginners wood painting class. You can relax and paint in your own home while enjoying step by step instruction with insider and pro tips. It all starts at 7 p.m. Make sure to get these materials ahead of time: paints in primary yellow, primary red, primary blue, white, black and brown, and a medium round or flat brush, a small round or flat brush and a fine round brush.

  • Dan Lepien Full Band at Saloon on Calhoun

Head over to Brookfield for some yummy food and live music by Dan Lepien. This event will be the debut full band show at Saloon on Calhoun. It is from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

  • Creating poetry with Liz Rhodebeck.

The Menomonee Falls Public Library is hosting an online poetry event from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. April is National Poetry Month and this virtual workshop is celebrating it with a fun event for beginner poets. Join published poet and author, Liz Rhodebeck, and create something wonderful. She is even a local Menomonee Falls resident.

  • Spring Book Sale

The Menomonee Falls Public Library is also hosting an in-person event from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Head over to the library for the spring book sale. This event is a price it yourself book sale. You donate according to a suggested price list or donate what you think your book haul is worth. No change will be given at this event.

  • Twister Big Screen Event

The Avalon Atmospheric theater in Milwaukee is hosting screenings for the 25th anniversary of Twister! Arrive at 6:30 p.m. and enjoy Twister on the big screen. Tickets at just $6. The movie features Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt as the famous storm chasers.

  • Earth Day Community Tree Planting

Thursday, April 22nd is also Earth Day! Celebrate the day with Friends of Havenwoods State Forest. The event takes place in Milwaukee from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. You will be celebrating the day by planting trees at Havenwoods State Forest. Meet in the parking lot where you will learn how to plant a tree. You will get equipment and trees to participate. You will need to wear a mask and observe social distancing protocols.
