Recently the major retail store chain Best Buy announced that it would be closing a number of its store locations throughout the country, including this one, in early March. Unfortunately, Minnesota isn't exempt from these closures.

On March 4, 2023, the Best Buy store located in Shakopee is expected to close permanently, according to a report recently published by Bring Me The News.

The affected Best Buy store is located at 8100 Old Carriage Court in Shakopee near the Sherwin-Williams Paint Store, PetSmart, and Chili's Grill & Bar.

According to local sources, the Best Buy store in Shakopee opened in 2007. For local shoppers who enjoyed the convenience of picking up appliances, electronics, and accessories at this store location, the news of its impending closure will likely be disappointing.

However, the reality is that many people's shopping habits have changed over the years, with many consumers simply shopping online for the items they wish to purchase.

Still, when it comes to the ability to make returns or pick up large items that have a higher shipping cost (such as appliances), it is nice to have a physical store in the area.
